Adult privilege is not having your parents force you to go to the gym, and take away all forms of entertainment except reading your few books if you don’t comply. Adult privilege is being allowed to take seconds at meals when you want them without glares, and being allowed to buy snacks with money you earned.
I’m an adult now, and no longer overweight, but as a result of this, I’m recovering from an eating disorder and exercise bulimia.
Adult privilege is not being permanently damaged because someone sees you as “fat.”
Mod Note: Sizeism affects everyone regardless of age, but when you’re young it’s more likely to be enforced by someone who can force you to obey them.
